Earnify is BP's newest loyalty program, launched in 2024 as a replacement for the aging BPme Rewards app that had served the company's U.S. customers since 2018. The rebrand and refresh signal BP's commitment to modernizing its customer engagement and rewards structure, and earnify differs meaningfully from its predecessor in how it structures earnings and redemptions. Rather than requiring a credit card or bank account link, earnify is app-based and works by linking your payment method directly within the mobile application. The program serves BP, Amoco, and ampm gas stations and convenience stores nationwide, as well as some TravelCenters of America and Petro locations that carry BP or Amoco branding. For drivers in regions with strong BP or Amoco presence, earnify offers a straightforward alternative to any-station programs, with the trade-off being that it is brand-specific rather than universally accepted.

The core offering of earnify is its always-on fuel savings of 5 cents per gallon on every fill-up at participating stations. This baseline discount requires no qualification, no tier achievement, and no condition beyond having the app and linking a payment method. Unlike programs that require activating offers in the app or meeting spending thresholds to earn savings, the 5 cents per gallon is automatic and consistent. This certainty is valuable for drivers who want to know exactly what they are getting every time they fuel up. The 5 cent per gallon discount alone means a driver filling a 15-gallon tank saves about 75 cents per fill-up, or roughly 30 dollars per month for someone fueling up every 10 days. Over a year, that compounds to substantial savings, especially for high-mileage drivers or commercial fleets. Earnify is available at most BP and Amoco locations across the United States, with particular density in the Midwest, Southeast, and Texas, though availability by location should be verified before relying on the program as your primary savings vehicle.

Beyond the flat fuel discount, earnify layers in a points system for both fuel and in-store purchases. Members earn 1 point for every dollar spent on fuel and 2 points for every dollar spent on other items inside the convenience store. These points accumulate in your account and can be redeemed directly for rewards either at the pump or inside the store. Redemption options include fuel discounts, free snacks and drinks, or other items available through the rewards menu in the app. The structure incentivizes in-store purchasing because spending inside the convenience store earns points at twice the rate of fuel, making a stop for coffee, snacks, or car maintenance items incrementally more valuable to your rewards balance. For a driver who regularly buys drinks, energy bars, or other items at BP convenience stores alongside their fuel, the 2-to-1 point ratio creates meaningful additional savings beyond the flat 5 cents per gallon.

A significant differentiator for earnify is its integration with Amazon Prime membership. Amazon announced in 2024 that Prime members can link their Amazon accounts within earnify to receive an additional 10 cents per gallon in fuel savings at participating BP, Amoco, and ampm locations. For Prime members, this stacks on top of the base 5 cent per gallon savings, reaching 15 cents per gallon total. Given that Amazon Prime reaches over 100 million households in the United States, this is a material benefit for a substantial portion of the driving public. The integration is simple: Prime members open earnify, connect their Amazon account, and the additional discount applies automatically at checkout. The 15 cent per gallon savings for Prime members is competitive with or exceeds many single-brand loyalty programs and closes the gap considerably with any-station programs that provide per-gallon discounts.

Earnify also extends its rewards beyond the gas pump through partnerships with regional grocery chains. Drivers can link their favorite grocery retailer to their earnify account at partners like Pick 'n Save, Mariano's, and Harris Teeter, then earn points on grocery spending that can be redeemed for fuel discounts back at BP and Amoco stations. The mechanism works by linking your rewards account at the grocery store to earnify; when you shop at those stores, your purchases feed into earnify's point balance. A household that spends 150 dollars per month at a participating grocery chain and redeems 1 percent back as fuel savings could accumulate substantial value. This cross-retailer integration is uncommon in fuel loyalty programs and gives earnify a unique angle for drivers in regions where participating grocery stores operate.

The main constraint of earnify is that it is geographically limited to BP, Amoco, and ampm station locations. While these brands operate across the United States, they are not ubiquitous the way Shell or Chevron are, and entire regions of the country have limited or no BP or Amoco presence. A driver in parts of the Pacific Northwest, Northern California, or other areas where BP's footprint is thin will struggle to use earnify as a primary fuel savings program. Drivers who travel or commute across state lines may find their typical fueling options do not include BP or Amoco stations, making the program unsuitable for their needs. The program also requires active engagement with the app; the savings are only realized if you remember to pay through the app or have it set up as your default payment method. Users who prefer to pay at the pump with a traditional payment card or cash cannot use earnify. This is a meaningful friction point compared to card-based programs like the GasBuddy card, which operates like any MasterCard at the point of sale with minimal additional steps.

Earnify competes most directly against other single-brand loyalty programs from major oil companies like Shell Fuel Rewards, Chevron Texaco Rewards, and ExxonMobil Rewards+. These programs typically offer 3 to 10 cents per gallon in base savings with tiers and bonus categories, though the mechanics vary. Earnify's advantage is its consistency and simplicity: every customer gets 5 cents per gallon with no tier system, no spending thresholds, and no category variations. There is no beginner tier, no platinum tier, and no way to earn extra savings by hitting a spending goal; it is the same flat 5 cents for every customer at every station. For drivers seeking uncomplicated fuel savings without reward mechanics to master, this is a strength. The Amazon Prime integration also gives earnify a leg up for the massive percentage of U.S. drivers who already hold Prime membership, effectively doubling the base savings for that segment of the population at no additional effort.

Earnify is the right choice for drivers who have BP, Amoco, or ampm stations as their primary or exclusive fueling option in their area, especially if they also hold Amazon Prime membership. For a household with a Prime membership living or working near multiple BP stations, the 15 cent per gallon fuel savings plus the points on in-store purchases makes earnify a compelling offer that requires minimal engagement beyond downloading the app and linking payment. For drivers in regions with strong grocery store partnerships, the ability to convert grocery spending into fuel savings adds an extra layer of value. However, for drivers whose gas stations of choice do not include BP brands, or who value the flexibility of fueling up anywhere they choose, earnify would not be practical as a primary savings program. The shift from BPme Rewards to earnify represents BP's effort to simplify its customer proposition and lean into partnerships like Amazon to remain competitive in a landscape where any-station and premium single-brand programs continue to proliferate.
